VNACJ Community Doula Learning Collaborative

A Community Doula is a trained, non-medical professional who provides emotional, physical, and informational support to pregnant individuals before, during, and after childbirth. Community doulas are especially valuable because they often share the language, culture, and lived experiences of the families they serve. Doulas build trust, improve birth outcomes, and reduce disparities in maternal health.Through this program, Doula participants receive comprehensive training and ongoing guidance to become certified Community-Doulas, equipped to offer compassionate care and advocacy to Essex County families throughout the pregnancy journey and beyond.
