WHAT: Open house to highlight access to the COVID-19 vaccine for individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities who need special accommodations

WHEN: Friday, March 26, 2021 10am to 2pm

WHERE: Bell Works in Holmdel, New Jersey | 101 Crawfords Corner Rd, Holmdel, NJ 07733

WHY: With a shared commitment to the health and safety of our most vulnerable populations, Autism New Jersey and the Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey (VNACJ) Community Health Center have established an innovative and successful partnership to increase access to the COVID-19 vaccine to individuals with autism or I/DD who may need special accommodations.

About the clinic
Pre-registration with Autism New Jersey offers personalized attention to understand the requested accommodations that are then communicated with clinic staff. The clinic has made several disability accommodations including a special needs check-in station with limited wait times and have staff who are committed to the meeting the needs of individuals with autism and developmental disabilities.

By the numbers
• 607 adults with autism have pre-registered
• 81 adults with autism have been vaccinated in the first two weeks
• 100+ adults with autism will be vaccinated on Saturday, March 27th in a dedicated special needs only day.
