Antony Ghee and Ann Marie P. Mauro Appointed to VNA Health Group Board of Trustees

Holmdel, NEW JERSEY (January 3, 2022) – Antony E. Ghee of GWIM Investment Solutions Group Chief Investment Office and Alternative Investments at Bank of America, and Ann Marie P. Mauro, PhD, RN, CNL, CNE, FAHA, FAAN, Dean and Professor of the Marjorie K. Unterberg School of Nursing and Health Studies at Monmouth University, have been appointed to the Visiting Nurse Association Health Group (VNAHG) Board of Trustees. Mr. Ghee was appointed in early 2021 while Dr. Mauro as more recently appointed.   

Mr. Ghee serves as the Risk Executive for GWIM Investment Solutions Group where he currently leads two teams of risk officers, responsible for overseeing the Chief Investment Offices and Alternative Investments businesses. Prior to joining Bank of America, Mr. Ghee practiced law with Clifford Chance in New York and Hong Kong and subsequently worked at a hedge fund with more than $1 billion of assets, where he was an Associate Managing Director and member of its Investment Committee. Mr. Ghee is a published author. His book “Fraud, Lies & Greed” has been featured on CBS, MSN, Windy City Live, and Entrepreneur.com among other media outlets. He has also been published in the Journal of Investment Management, Fordham’s Journal of Corporate & Financial Law and Private Asset Management. Mr. Ghee is a member of the Black Executive Leadership Council, Global Risk Managements, ALIGN network of Black / African American and Hispanic Executives and leads a Connect 10 group of diverse band 4 and 5 talent within Global Risk Management. He also serves as a member of the military Support & Assistance Group and is actively engaged in the firm’s recruitment of military veterans. Mr. Ghee earned a Master of Law in Securities & Financial Regulation from Georgetown University Law Center, a JD from Howard University and a BS in Business Administration from Virginia Union University. He is admitted to the Bar in New York and New Jersey and is a Major in the U.S. Army Reserve as well as a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Mr. Ghee, his wife and their two children currently reside in northern New Jersey. 

Ann Marie P. Mauro, PhD, RN, CNL, CNE, FAHA, FAAN, is professor and dean of the Marjorie K. Unterberg School of Nursing and Health Studies at Monmouth University. Dr. Mauro was appointed dean in July 2020 where she provides leadership for 38 full-time faculty, 12 staff, and close to 1000 students. She oversees undergraduate health studies, health promotion, health and physical education; master’s physician assistant; doctoral occupational therapy; undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral nursing programs; as well as post-master’s and post-baccalaureate certificates and continuing education programs. In her time as dean, she has addressed the ongoing health and safety issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic as a member of the University Crisis Management Team, mobilized nursing faculty and students to administer COVID-19 vaccines within the community. She has been awarded continued federal funding to address the national nurse faculty shortage, facilitated a successful 10-year accreditation of the Master of Science physician assistant program, championed the new occupational therapy doctoral program to achieve accreditation candidacy status and enroll 25 students in its first cohort in June 2021. 

Dr. Mauro brings immense experience and knowledge to VNA Health Group with an extensive background in nursing education. Prior to her role at Monmouth University, Dr. Mauro served as associate dean, professor and director for the Center for Educational Research and Innovation at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, School of Nursing, where she continues working with PhD students as an adjunct professor. She also served as clinical associate professor of nursing at New York University (NYU) where she remains a courtesy appointed professor. During her time at NYU, Dr. Mauro was a Hartford Institute for Geriatric Nursing fellow. She also served as assistant professor at Seton Hall University, where she led key initiatives including a new PhD nursing program and the first entry-level clinical nurse leader master’s degree program in New Jersey. 

Dr. Mauro is a national leader, serving as a fellow in the American Academy of Nursing, American Heart Association and New York Academy of Medicine. She currently serves as president of the Eastern Nursing Research Society, a member of the Council for the Advancement of Nurse Science and an American Heart Association Cardiovascular and Stroke Nursing Council Awards Committee member. She served for six years on the board of the National League for Nursing Board of Governors and is past president of the Washington Township K-8 Board in Morris County, New Jersey. Dr. Mauro has been recognized and honored, receiving the Excellence and Innovation in Teaching Award from the American Association of Colleges of Nursing; the Nurse Recognition Award from the New Jersey League for Nursing; and Nurse of the Year Academic Educator Award by the March of Dimes. Dr. Mauro has spearheaded major health professions diversity initiatives, written multiple publications and consulted nationally. She earned her BSN magna cum laude and MSN in nursing education from Seton Hall University and her PhD in research and theory development from New York University, as well as a certificate from the Wharton Nursing Leaders Program at the University of Pennsylvania.
