Visiting Nurse Association Health Group to Host Pro Am Charity Invitational Golf Tournament in Support of Hospice
“Hospice Heroes” event will benefit hospice care provided to individuals and families throughout New Jersey and mid-Ohio
Holmdel, New Jersey — (July 13, 2021) – Visiting Nurse Association Health Group (VNAHG), a leading nonprofit provider of home care and hospice in New Jersey and mid-Ohio, will host a Pro Am Charity Invitational Golf Tournament on Monday, August 9, 2021. “Hospice Heroes” will take place at the renowned Hollywood Golf Club in Deal, New Jersey and will benefit VNAHG’s hospice care provided by its joint ventures including VNA of Central Jersey, RWJBarnabas Health, Robert Wood Johnson Visiting Nurses, VNA of Ohio, and VNA of Englewood.
A unique opportunity for avid golfers, this event invites clubs throughout New Jersey and elsewhere to field a team with a PGA professional along with four amateur club members for a competitive tournament. Amateur golfers may also field their own foursome and VNAHG will pair their team up with a PGA Pro. The four amateurs and their PGA Professional will play a Best Ball Low Net and Low Gross Competition. Pros will also play in their own tournament. First, second and third pro purses awarded. Hollywood Golf Club’s championship golf course was designed by Walter J. Travis and ranked 83rd in Golf Magazine’s Top 100 Best Courses in America in 2020.
Hospice Heroes will raise much-needed funds for VNAHG’s compassionate hospice programs which serve 14,000 individuals and their families throughout New Jersey and mid-Ohio on any given day. VNAHG continued to provide hospice care even as COVID-19 brought a new set of challenges for staff going into patients’ homes and facilities in 2020.
“This event will raise funds and awareness about the importance of hospice at end-of-life. Too often families wait to transition to hospice care when it can make all the difference earlier on,” said Bridget Murphy, Chief Philanthropy Officer, VNA Health Group. “By supporting hospice with this event, we can help the program continue to grow and provide services to families, regardless of their circumstances.”
A foursome at the Hospice Heroes outing is $4,000 and includes lunch, on-course refreshments, player’s gift, and an evening cocktail and buffet awards reception.
“We are excited to host a one-of-kind outing for golfers across the state and beyond,” said Mrs. Murphy. “It will be highly competitive and we look forward to seeing many members of the golf community come out!”
Golfers can register for the tournament by visiting www.vnahg.org, by texting VNAPROAM to 41444, or by calling Carmela Tedesco, Director of Special Events at 732.224.6970.
