    Best-in-Class Children and Family Care

This program for any first-time pregnancy in NJ is run by our specially trained community health nurses and provides visitations to mothers during their last trimester of pregnancy or within two weeks of the expected birth date. Find out what resources are available to you as we support you in learning about prenatal and postpartum care. The assistance you will receive focuses on parental education, nutritional counseling, parenting skills, as well as resource guidance for critical needs, including housing and transportation. Program participants may be eligible for other services within our Children and Family Health Institute.

    Prenatal Services

The Children and Family Health Institute wants to ensure you have the best possible care for your unborn child. Our prenatal services at our Community Health Center offers regularly scheduled checkups and exams, supportive assistance from licensed social workers, nutritional counseling and prenatal care education.

    Healthy Families

The Healthy Families Program supports pregnant or parenting women who live in Monmouth County, the City of Perth Amboy, or Essex County, New Jersey. The program offers home visitors who can bring education and resources on parenting, child development, nutrition, and other community services like housing, job training, child care and transportation. You can receive home visiting support for up to three years, as your baby grows and changes.

    Parents as Teachers

Parents as Teachers helps parents understand child development and connects them to resources they need to make the best choices for their families. It is available to any parent in Monmouth County who is pregnant or raising a child less than 12 months of age. Parent Educators come to your home to provide personal visits that are customized to meet the needs of your family. The visits will continue for about two years.

    Nurse-Family Partnership

Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) guides first-time, low-income, pregnant women towards a healthy pregnancy and birth. Moms-to-be are paired with a specially trained nurse who will coach and advocate on your behalf. You will learn about newborn care, child development, nutrition, and be connected to resources in your community. Enrollees must be first-time mothers living in Monmouth or Ocean County who are less than 28 weeks along in their pregnancies, though women can enroll as early as 12 to 14 weeks. A nurse will visit your home until your child is about 2 years old, giving you all the support needed to navigate motherhood.

    WIC

Women, Infants and Children (WIC) provides nutritional counseling and education for pregnant and nursing women and children under the age of 5. Participants receive vouchers for the purchase of nutritious food as well as breastfeeding counseling and support by a lactation consultant if needed. Ensure your child is getting the right nutrition so they can grow with a healthy development.
