VNA of Ohio announces intent to buy Ideal Home Health Care

Visiting Nurse Association of Ohio (VNA of Ohio) has announced its intent to acquire Westlake company, Ideal Home Health Care.

VNA of Ohio is a member of the Holmdel, N.J. based Visiting Nurse Association Health Group (VNA Health Group). It is one of Ohio’s largest home health, hospice, and mental health care providers. They offer services throughout 17 counties in northern and central Ohio, according to a news release.

The acquisition of Ideal will enhance the VNA of Ohio’s current home health operations footprint and strengthen its existing services.

“We feel strongly that in order for our home health and hospice operations to succeed, we need to grow,” said Dr. Steven Landers, president and CEO of VNA Health Group, in a prepared statement. “We continue to find ways to enhance our services to those in need and are excited to work with such an incredible organization with a strong, long-standing reputation.”

About Ideal Home Health Care

Lisa Zidek has led Ideal since 2014. She will oversee the newly combined organizations as president of the VNA of Ohio. Her main objectives are focusing on growth, employee engagement, and health system partner development. Under her leadership, Ideal grew from 20 employees and a 114-patient census to more than 130 employees and a nearly 800 home health care patient census. The VNA’s average daily patient census is around 1,000 for its Medicare-certified home health service.

“Ideal has been an organization our community has depended on for years. We couldn’t be more excited to join VNAO’s long history of caring for the community since 1902 and to join forces with such an incredible leadership team and employee base,” Zidek said in a prepared statement.

In late summer, the company expects to complete the acquisition. VNA of Ohio will conduct a full integration of employees and patients from Ideal Home Health Care during this process. Throughout the transition, both organizations will make great efforts to ensure minimal disruption to patient care, according to the release.
