The Benefits of Special Child Health Services

Each year, over 54,000 parents and children utilize the early intervention services through VNA Health Group. Children & Family Health Institute (CFHI) improves access to its community-based care for at-risk children and their families, offering a “no wrong front door” approach. While many programs are available, finding and accessing them is a different story. This is what our program aims to do – connect parents and children to the programs they need to succeed.

Why is it Challenging to Find Health and Social Services for Children?

There is a wide range of programs available to help parents and children, but they aren’t always easy to access. One of the reasons for this is that these services can come from many sources that do not have a system of coordination. To access them, you have to go to each website and apply. When you have a child with special needs, this can be time consuming and mentally draining!

Fortunately, CFHI is one single program that aims to bridge the gap between these programs. We receive contributions from individuals, foundations and corporations to keep our program running. It’s available for the families of children with special needs, so don’t be shy! Contact us today and let us help you find the services you need within your community.

Programs We Can Connect You With

One of the great things about living in New Jersey is that there is no shortage of programs for children with special needs. Here are a few of the most popular.

● Pediatric home care services. Pediatric home care for acute, skilled care offers a range of care and support for children and their families, including nursing visits, speech therapy, occupational therapy and social work.

● Early intervention. Early intervention is a program designed for children up to age 3 to help meet their developmental milestones. Services include occupational therapy, speech therapy, physical therapy and parent training.

● Special child health services. These services provide case management for children from birth to 21 years old who are at risk for developmental, behavioral and/or physical delays due to a health condition.

Discover Early Intervention Programs in Your Area

Early intervention programs have been shown to deliver exceptional benefits in terms of behavior, academic achievement and educational progression. The sooner these programs start, the better outcomes children have. This is why our CFHI program intends to help as many families as possible navigate local early intervention services.

If you have a child with special needs, contact Children & Family Health Institute at 855.619.4445 today to learn more about these services.
