Tiffany Burton, MSW Joins Children & Family Health Institute as Director, CEED Prevention & Wellness

Tiffany Burton

Tiffany Burton’s life has been marked by a strong sense of purpose and dedication to serving her community—values that define our mission at VNA Health Group.

Her diverse career experiences, background as a school social worker, and personal experiences with cancer make her well-suited for her new role as Director, CEED Prevention & Wellness at the VNA’s Children and Family Health Institute.

We sat down with Tiffany to hear her perspective on cancer education and early detection, why the Children and Family Health Institute’s work is so important to New Jersey’s families, and how VNA Health Group’s mission aligns with her own values:

What made you decide to join CFHI as the CEED director?

I have always had a strong interest in healthcare and found this opportunity to align with my passion for helping others. I appreciate the opportunity to advance cancer education and early detection as the Children and Family Health Institute’s CEED director.

Why are you passionate about Cancer Education and Early Detection?

Having seen cancer destroy the lives of so many people, I know that early detection of cancer is crucial to improving the outcome of a cancer diagnosis. I’m passionate about fostering awareness and education to empower individuals in identifying and addressing cancer at its earliest stages.

How have your career experiences prepared you for this new role?

My diverse career experiences with a strong background in social work have equipped me with the skills needed to navigate the challenges and opportunities in this role, ensuring effective program implementation.

What are your primary goals and priorities for the CEED program?

My primary goals for the CEED program include expanding community outreach, enhancing educational initiatives, and establishing strong partnerships to advance cancer prevention through early detection.

What are you most looking forward to in this new role? (community engagement, education, patient coordination, etc.)

I look forward to fostering strong community engagement and contributing to education efforts to make a positive impact on cancer outcomes.

VNA Health Group’s mission is to help “individuals and families achieve their best level of well-being by providing compassionate, coordinated, innovative care in their homes and communities.” How does that mission align with your career experiences to date?

My career has been defined by the same values that support VNA Health Group’s mission. I’ve always prided myself on delivering compassionate and innovative care, and I’m grateful to now work with an organization that holds that same commitment.

CFHI solves the family healthcare conundrum by enabling parents and children to access the care and services they need. What role do you see CEED playing in those efforts?

I believe CEED will play a vital role within CFHI by focusing on early detection to ensure that families can access timely, effective, and life-saving care.

Anything else to add?

It is truly an honor to be a part of the CEED team, and I look forward to moving the CEED program forward by providing early detection and education to families in our community.
