Cancer Education & Early Detection

The Cancer Education and Early Detection (NJCEED) program in Monmouth and Ocean Counties is proudly supported by the New Jersey Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This initiative aims to detect cancer early, before symptoms appear, to prevent its occurrence and ultimately enhance health outcomes. The NJCEED team also provides vital outreach, education, and navigation services to support underserved communities.

Free Cancer Screenings Offered:

For Women:

  • Breast: Ages 40-64, including a clinical breast exam and an annual mammogram
  • Cervical: Ages 21-64, including a Pap test and HPV co-testing if necessary
  • Colorectal: Age 45 and older, including a Fecal Immunochemical Test (FIT) and colonoscopy if necessary

For Men:

  • Colorectal: Age 45 and older, including a Fecal Immunochemical Test (FIT) and colonoscopy if necessary
  • Prostate: Age 50 and older, including a Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) test and Digital Rectal Exam (DRE)

Eligibility Requirements:

These screenings are available to individuals who:

  • Fall within the recommended age range for each screening
  • Are uninsured or underinsured
  • Meet income eligibility requirements
  • Are New Jersey residents, regardless of citizenship status
